Just to clear up since my hysterical outburst over Cleo; we are not selling her. I cried my little heart out to both Peter and Kevin and they talked me out of cutting my losses, because that is all it would be. Cutting losses. This doesn’t mean there will be no more losses. But, as they pointed out to me; we’ve started down the route of restoring her, we’re about half way there, and at this stage we would get virtually nothing for her. The work that needs doing; welding and rust removal, should have been done a couple of years ago and was indeed on the schedule anyway.
So like it or lump it, Cleo remains ours. She’s presently staying with Peter in London where I’ve done a SORN (Statutory Off-Road Notification) to the DVLA (Driving and Vehicle Licensing Agency) to give both us and Peter time to get it all done. So we’re car-less for the summer. Which is a shame as this is just the right time to go for long drives around this beautiful country.
But… but… oh, I just can’t shut up about it! I have to tell! I’m not going to be totally wheel-less all summer… Remember Thomas? He (homepage) and I hit the quieter roads around Vienna this morning, on a Kawasaki Ninja 250. A brand new bike that Thomas was test riding for an article. And he asked me to help him do some pictures. What do you think are the chances I would say no to that? ‘zactly. No chance at all. That would be the same as sticking a dog’s bottom in front of another dog and trying to make it NOT SNIFF. Not one of life’s options.

I know. It is ahwfully green.
Now, here’s the part you can’t tell anyone ’cause Kawasaki is not supposed to know. I got to try it. And — it’s just perfect. Someone must have had me, the pocket sized Viking, in mind when making this machine. Light, super responsive, tiny. And fast. I’m in love. I may join Thomas and friends for the Toy Run in a couple of weeks, and perhaps I’ll be lucky enough to get to hire it for that — there is likely to be competition. But if I do I may have to get a new crash helmet to fit my ENORMOUS GRIN.
